Topic: A Robot MMORPG - Age of Armor

Message: Hello everyone,I’d like to introduce you a new game– Age of Armor. It’s a robot MMORPG developed by SnailGame. The game has very fun classes and systems, and most importantly, a lot cool robots! (As in this game robot is called “Armor”) You can even change components and customize your own armor. Well, don’t think I need to say too much. I put some pictures from the game and video links below so that you can see by yourself. If you like it, visit the official website at www.aoaus.com and join us in the game! Soon there will be a “Transforming System” to be added to the game, which could enable your robots to change their shapes. Read more at: http://www.aoaus.com/act/transform/

DungeonRun.com Staff Opportunities : General

Topic: DungeonRun.com Staff Opportunities

Message: DungeonRun.com is currently looking for staff to handle reviews and news. What does it take to join DR?In order to be accepted at dungeonrun, potential candidates must go through a rigorous interviewing process that can, at times, be considered deadly. Beforehand, the candidate must sign a disclaimer, waiving all liability that may implicate dungeonrun. When that is done, the candidate is put in a barely furnished small room with Olga, a formidable Russian woman who specializes in putting nuts in the wringer (if you’re a female applicant, you’re automatically accepted.) Once she has ascertain how many microseconds it took for the candidate to scream, the candidate is then moved on to another chamber. This chamber contains flames spraying everywhere, spinning blades so sharp they could julienne diamonds, and a singing Richard Simmons. If the candidate passes, we’ll question whether the candidate is actually a demigod, at which point the candidate is welcomed to the team at dungeonrun.Think you have what it takes? Chuck Norris thought so too, but he isn’t at dungeonrun now, is he?----------What's DR about? We hope to be the voice of jaded online gamers everywhere. Primarily focusing on MMORPG and Online games we hope to expose the best and worst of this genre.Lets be honest, there's plenty of gaming news sites out there, but how many do you really trust? We're an independent new source beholden to nobody. Reviews are expected to be fair, honest, and no holds barred. If a game clearly sucks it will not get a 70% ala IGN.com, if it's only passable and everybody knows it, it will not get a 90% just because a major corporation with deep pockets released it. We call it how we see it.Ultimately it's about quality reviews, be prepared to back up your opinion on titles that impact millions of gamers, game reviews should be free to give their unique take on games that don't parrot every other review, nor should you be held back from criticizing a game that our readers should avoid.Writers are expected to help provide rich media. Large, full colored screenshots are a must, and in-game Fraps videos showing off the best (or worse) of a game are the order of the day. Pictures are worth a thousand words, which puts videos somewhere up at a million I wager, needless to say check out our past reviews to get a take on the DR style. As we get to know our readers we expect our format to grow and refine itself along with our staff who's input is always welcome.Requirements:Must be able to write anywhere from daily to monthly on a regular schedule. Consistancy, reliability, and quality work are desired here. We'd rather have 1 good review than 10 poor ones. Just like how we'd rather have 1 good writer able to put a quality piece out once a month than several poor articles every week.Must be able to write articulate and well thought out articles (better than the banging on the keyboard like a crazy monkey style that I'm known for). Be on the cusp of the gaming fringe with access to all the latest news and info in your area of interest.Talented and Motivated (as opposed to untalented and unmotivated - that position is already filled, sorry.)----------Podcast Engineer WantedDR is also on the lookout for a top notch podcasting engineer to handle production needs, and/or contribute in weekly discussions. This role will include a LOT of creativing and latitude in determining the style of the DR podcast.Ideally out podcast will be the holy grail for us, because very great gaming news writer and blogger out there knows if you can't write, PODCAST! ;)Seriously, we think this will be a great oppotunity for listeners to get to know the DR staff and really get to hear the little things that get lost or missed in an article.----------Final Notes:Make a difference! Entertain & Save your fellow gamers! Get your name out there! Influence the game industry (Yes they do monitor us like hawks and we've got the Mint logs to prove it!).Note: As with nearly every website these positions are currently unpaid. However I may personally compensate staff out of my pocket by covering game costs or subscription fees for online titles when they aren't provided by game publishers. Occasionally if the publisher or hardware manufactuer agrees its allowed to keep the demo product, however our preference is to giveaway all review items to visitors. If you're still not discouraged and think you have what it takes to join the team feel free to drop me a line via the contact form above or drop a reply here in the forum. Please make sure to include links to example reviews, writing, or anything you feel shows your applicable skills.

Message: Well hey, my logins for the frontpage and forums still work so why the heck not?!I'm happy to contribute to the site again, though I don't know how frequent a poster I can be (I've a million and one things on the go right now!). I won't post any news or articles though until you've made the launch announcement so I have an idea of the direction you're taking the site in.Cheers,Dan

John Romero - the man who would be God : Gaming

Topic: John Romero - the man who would be God

Message: An interview with one of the most hyped devs in gaming history:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/issue/55/3
In the five years he worked with id Software, John Romero contributed heavily to developing a number of innovative PC games, including id's breakout hit Wolfenstein 3D and one of the most widely recognized and controversial games of all time, Doom; the game that has been accused of inspiring the Columbine High School shootings, made its designers multi-millionaires and ushered in the era of the "rockstar game developer." Yet inside the game industry, Romero is even better known for the one that got away.

Topic: Did Foo Die?

Message: So it does look like Foo has died then.I completely understand about taking time out and/or just taking off Matt, but you put a lot of work into this, and ever pushed it pretty hard on 3DGPU, and now, just seemingly out of the blue, you decide your done with it. No warning, no notice, no nothing. So what is to happen to Foo?It was just getting going to and going at a good click in my view. Notices about games were coming up fast, and before a lot of other sites. So what now?

Topic: Games you're most looking forward to?

Message: Dark Messiah of Might & Magic vaulted to the top of my wish list after I saw the latest trailer for it last week (d/l from Gamespot). I'm currently playing Titan Quest and loving it in that Diablo click-click-click addictive way, but it's mere filler to hold me over until Neverwinter Nights 2 and Gothic 3 ship.
